Frequently Asked Questions

 

Leaving home to travel to another country for medical care is bound to bring up many questions. Whether it's before, during or after your visit to BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex) in Qom, you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions below, to help you and your family better prepare for your trip.

 

Do I need an appointment before going to BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex) for medical treatment? How do I begin the process?

Yes, you do need to arrange an appointment. Please call or email us. You'll be assigned a coordinator,(a member of ipd team), who will help you every step of the way. The assigned coordinator will make every effort to schedule all of the testing and procedures you will need before you arrive.

Do I need to provide my medical records to BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex)?

Yes, our doctors need to be well informed about your condition before you arrive. Having your medical records (in English/Arabic) will also allow the International Patient Department to refer you to the best-matched specialist.

Medical records include doctor's notes, treatment history, operative reports (which provide details of medical procedures), and pathology, imaging and lab reports. You can send your files in digital format(zip or something like that) to our email. You can also send paper format of your medical documents to our address.

If I need care from another specialist, can that be accommodated during the same visit?

BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex) does everything possible so that patients can see the specialists they need for their medical care. However, depending on the specialty required, some appointments may be more difficult to schedule with short notice.

Will there be someone at the hospital who speaks my language?

Yes, we have interpreters for common languages (Arabic, English and Turkish). They can explain things to you and help you communicate with your specialists, both here and after you return home.

What identifying documents should I bring with me to BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex)?

Your identification card and passport.

 How long will I be in the hospital?

The length of stay varies, depending on the type of procedure you are having and other medical factors.

Can a family member stay with me in the inpatient room?

Yes. In our non-ICU setting, every room is a private room. One family member or friend can stay in the inpatient room with you overnight.

What will happen after my treatment, surgery or procedure?

You will spend some time recovering. You will also need follow-up care before returning home. Your care team will schedule follow-up appointments, help you fill prescriptions and get any special equipment.

Where can my family and friends stay while I'm visiting BMC?

The International Patient Department can supply a list of hotels and rental housing at various price ranges, including some nearby hotels that offer special rates for our patients. If you need help, please contact our ipd expert.

How can I get my medical records from BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex)?

Patients can request their records for all medical services provided by BMC. The International Patient Department will collect and organize your medical records, including medical imaging, for you to pick up. Please inform us about your travel plans so that we can have the medical records ready for you.

How much do medical services cost at BMC ( Beheshti Medical Complex)?

Final cost of care is determined by tests and procedures recommended or outlined by your accepting/treating doctor. However we have a price list for Common Surgeries. Payments can be in U.S. dollars, Iraqi dinar or Iranian rial.
